Heart Health Update

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is dedicated to empowering women with knowledge about heart health. We understand that women’s health is important to you, and we’d like to share information about what is going on in and around the hospital related to women and heart health.

Save the Date
Save the date for our next Women’s Heart Symposium, scheduled for February 4, 2009 from 5p.m. to 8p.m.  This symposium is designed specifically for women in the Chicago community, and it provides women with the latest information on heart disease, the leading cause of death among women. 

The symposium will feature lectures on:

  • Diversity and risk for heart disease
  • Stress, anxiety and heart health
  • Red wine, chocolate, olive oil and heart health
  • Managing Risk Factors:  Fitting heart health into women’s daily schedules

Clinical Trials
Are you interested in contributing to important advancements of medical knowledge?  The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute is currently recruiting volunteers to participate in clinical research trials specific to women and cardiovascular disease.  Clinical research trials search for new and better ways to understand and treat disease. Participating in a clinical research trial can be an informative learning experience for those who volunteer.
