The program will provide a synopsis of recent and relevant high-impact issues in IBD for clinical gastroenterologists, internists and family practitioners caring for patients with IBD.

Program Objectives
After attending this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
  • Recognize a patient with IBD
  • Determine whether to refer a patient with IBD to a gastroenterologist or surgeon
  • Discuss the diagnostic procedures for IBD
  • Discuss the medical therapies and surgical procedures available for patients with IBD
  • List IBD complications and their management
  • Discuss the psychosocial issues involved in caring for patients with IBD
